About Sakura’s work, and why you should hire her
This document is intended for everyone on Earth who is interested in me
“Tell me about yourself”
I studied Organizational Behavior and Leadership at Harvard University, and continue to be fascinated by the many institutions that make up the fabric of our society.
My training in Sociology and organizational theory taught me that only through first hand experience can you be a qualified expert on something. I took this lesson to heart, and entered the workforce looking to understand what makes successful organizations tick. I bounced around the world of Big Tech for awhile — working in different projects. I have solid experience in 3 areas of interest of the many that I have: operations, product support, and customer success.
Now, with some experience under my belt, I have identified the following pain points that exist across society: communication; accessibility; democratizing knowledge; and building meaningful connections and communities.
All of my work moving forward will be dedicated to addressing these pain points in one manner or another.
I am specifically interested in supporting gig economy workers, especially non-FTE’s in Big Tech and First Gen Low Income and Next Gen students, alumni, and workers.
I’m happy to say I already began organizing my high school alumni community, as well as supporting First Gen Low Income and Next Gen students at Harvard by mentoring and working with fellow volunteer alumni to create resources and online communications, specifically on social media, for the entire community we serve.
I also have been called a Vaccine Fairy by a stranger (thank you stranger!) because I have been fairly active in Bay Area Vaccine Hunters on Facebook as I dove a bit too deep into the broken vaccine appointment booking system and also was lucky enough to hear about spare vaccines at a local Walgreens from someone in my network and had the bandwidth to help get those vaccines into bodies before they expired. To help the general Bay Area populace book Covid-19 vaccine appointments in the vein of democratizing knowledge, I created this simple public document on Google Docs with easy to access links to the primary vaccine appointment booking resources and sites.
If I had known about Notion earlier, I would have definitely created it on Notion because of how clean it looks.
“Is Sakura looking for work?”
No, but I would love to learn about your organization and you!
“What is Sakura looking for?”
I’m looking to meet cool people to have great conversations on all sorts of topics. My favorite types of tech currently are Fintech, Communitytech, Productivitytech, Creatortech, and Climatetech.

Question to be answered in within 2 years:
Do I want to manage people?
My 2–5 year plan and beyond depends on the answer to this question. Ask me if you’d like me to go into depth about what the 2 major paths look like.
“What do you like to do outside of your day job?”
I have a lot of side projects going on — Check my LinkedIn for some of them! Here are the my larger current and future projects that are not listed on my LinkedIn in depth:
Product Support for the People project (Brainstormed name: Support Fairy, name suggestions welcome):
Inspired by Vaccinefairy.org
As a wannabe sociologist who has worked in support for a few years and know how absolutely frustrating it is for the average person to navigate support systems, I will be dedicating time moving forward to creating resources regarding how to get the support you should be entitled to as a user of services, with a focus on B2C for-profit companies regarding technology and online support processes. Items I will be working on:
1. Working Rating doc regarding my personal rating of support experiences for normal people like myself at said companies
2. Tips and tricks to getting the support you deserve as a user/customer
3. Pro-Bono, scalable support fairy matching services and groups so that those who are willing to help others get through support tiers, etc. can be matched or simply help out those who are having trouble getting the proper service they should be entitled to (ideas include FB group, etc.).
Please DM me if you’d like to discuss any aspects of this project with me.
Newb VC project:
Thanks to Joey Kim for making me realize this would be an extremely fulfilling project.
I’m creating a Master Sheet of organizations that foster connections and communities, especially in underrepresented communities and those founded by underrepresented individuals and teams who are great people, so that I can match them with VC’s and donors who believe in investing in these causes. I will also be adding supporting services run by good people, from entrepreneurs to organizations, once again especially highlighting underrepresented individuals teams.
If you belong in any of the 3 types of organizations or are any of these 3 types of people I mentioned (the one executing the idea, the one who wants to invest in the idea, or the supporter of the great idea), and you’d like to have a virtual coffee chat with me, please do DM.
Creation of NFT, by Crypto Newb who has never made an NFT and has “insufficient crypto knowledge”:
Yes, I am going to invest some time and energy to listing a NFT for my friends at the CoffeeBreath show, which I have been frequenting in the chats of on many Friday nights during the pandemic! As a Crypto Newb, I will be documenting the resources I used, how I went about it, the challenges I had, and creating some additional content to supplement the work of art that I am curating into an NFT.
“How can I support Sakura?”
If you’d like to contribute financially to this or any of my other projects, I’m accepting any and all donations to my Venmo or Cash App me at $ZiSakura! Please make a note and I will allocate the funds accordingly and send you updates for your investment in me!
Otherwise, my default is always simply: I LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU! Comment below or send me a note and I’d love to catch-up if you have time, or get right to the point on how we can support each other, whether it is through introductions to people, referrals, sharing knowledge and resources, having a heart-to-heart on a particular subject, me offering to do some work for you, etc.!
(Version 4 in Medium updated 6/3/2021; Version 3a in Medium and 3b in Notion created 4/25/2021 intended for different audiences. Version 2: added my professional goals and skills, 2–5 year plan. Version 1, created 4/18/2021 as LinkedIn has a word limit and I have too many projects happening outside of work)
